I believe that teaching is rewarding. There is nothing in the world that beats morning hugs.
Meet Joel: (to the left)
I could always count on Joel to come into the classroom and give me a great big hug followed with an "I missed you!"
"The greater the gap between teacher and learner, the harder teaching becomes."

Meet Zeke: (above)
As teachers we have the opportunity to provide a child with an environment where they feel safe and loved in order to foster a relationship for learning. Zeke and I played several ice breaker games in order to get to know one another before breaking down strategies for problem solving. These simple games opened the doors to our most meaningful interactions and allowed us to create a space where he felt comfortable enough to transition into learning together.
Teaching is forgiving. Whenever I make a mistake I can trust that my students will be willing to forgive me, and I will always do the same for them. To the right is a picture of the first lesson I taught while student teaching. Working with Oreos is not as easy as one might think! With a little bit of patience, teamwork, and a forgiving spirit, we were able to successfully recreate the phases of the moon together.

Being a teacher requires dedication. I know my students count on me and they know I will never give up on them.
